How would YOUR Nervous System Respond to Breathwork?: Sneak Peek Into a Session

Get a glimpse into how two people’s nervous systems respond differently to breathwork.

This video picks up in the middle of a couple’s session to show you what to expect from this style of breathwork. We’ve just finished a second phase of activating breathing and have used calming breath to come back to a grounded state.

Thanks to SK and Marilyn (@justsaysk and @overtherainbowenergy on Instagram) for letting me record their couple’s session to share what it’s like with all of you! (You can find me on Instagram @reysomatics)

As you can see in the video, their nervous systems respond VERY differently to the activating breathing pattern. There is no “right” way to experience breathwork. Everyone’s nervous system is unique, and this style of breathwork works with you, not against you. We don’t blow past what your body can tolerate on any given day; we respect where you’re at physically and emotionally, and we hold space for whatever comes up.

In individual and couple’s sessions, there are check-ins during periods of rest, during which I can better assess what’s coming up for you and offer guidance for the next cycle of activation. (Group breathwork doesn’t have these check-ins because logistically it would take too much time.)

After this check-in, we moved into a third phase of activating breathing. The style of breathwork I’m certified in is called Biodynamic Breathwork Trauma Release System (BBTRS), and it moves in cycles of activation and rest.
